Gummed paper is used in the indirect method
of mosaic tile laying.
Gummed paper is great for holding tiles in a temporary position and can be bought or
made up with brown paper and a diluted water
soluble glue.
Often brown paper comes on the back of tiles (when they come in sheets) and,
as it is water-soluble, can easily be washed off with warm soapy water.
